Kathryn Gray was born in Wales in 1973. Her first collection, The Never-Never, was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best First Collection and the T. S. Eliot Prize. Her work has appeared in The Times Literary Supplement, The Independent, Poetry Review and Poetry Wales. She has participated in A Poet’s Guide to Britain and The Larkin Tapes for the BBC and has collaborated on film poems for BBC Wales, voiced by Matthew Rhys and Eve Myles. Kathryn has taught for the Arvon Foundation and The Poetry School, and is a director of Literature Wales and a trustee of Tŷ Newydd, the National Writers’ Centre for Wales. Kathryn was editor of New Welsh Review for three years and was until recently the publishing editor of Parthian Books. Kathryn is currently a researcher for a new three-year Leverhulme-funded, innovative research project investigating Welsh poetry in English, 'Devolved Voices'.
