Jyrki Kiiskinen (1963) debuted as a poet in 1989. He was the Editor-in-Chief of Nuori Voima magazine between 1991 and 1994 and subsequently continued his career as the Editor-in-Chief of Books from Finland between 1996 and 2000. He currently works as a freelance writer in Helsinki. Jyrki Kiiskinen was one of the ardent poets who established the Living Poets' Society, and went on to organize literary events. He has published five collections of poetry and three novels. As a writer of children’s literature, he debuted in 2000 with his book Jänis ja Vanki (The Hare and the Prisoner). Since then, he has published five books for children (between the age of 7 and 11).
