Megan Angharad Hunter is a Welsh author, script-writer and musician, who writes both in her native Welsh and in English. She has written two novels for young adults. Her debut, tu ôl i’r awyr (behind the sky) was published in 2020 and won the Wales Book of the Year Award, her second, Cat, was published as a contribution to the prize-winning Y Pump, a series of writing for young readers. Although she mostly writes for young adults, concentrating on themes such as mental health, disability and sexuality, she is currently working on her first novel for children and translating her award-winning novel into English.

Megan recently led Literature Wales' three-day, trilingual workshop (Welsh, English and BSL), Write Back. This project aimed to amplify the voices of young Welsh individuals who identify as Disabled and/or Deaf and/or chronically ill.

Her first middle grade novel, Astronot yn yr Atig, is selected to our 2023 Bookshelf.
