Özgür Uyanık is an author, screenwriter and film director whose family emigrated from Turkey to the United Kingdom. He is a Creative Writing PhD candidate at Cardiff University and has an MA in Creative Writing and English Literature. His darkly comedic debut novel Conception (Fairlight Books) about a sociopathic contemporary artist, was released in July 2020 and he currently has several screenplays in development with support from Ffilm Cymru Wales and the BFI.
