Ruth Richards lives in Anglesey. She studied History of Art at Sussex University, and many years later, embarked on a Creative Writing MA course at Bangor University.

Her debut novel, Pantywennol (Y Lolfa) was published in 2016, while a collection of short stories, Pobol i'w Hosgoi (People to Avoid) (Gwasg y Bwthyn) followed in 2017. Pantywennol was chosen for the 2017 Exchange Bookcase. Her most recent novel, Siani Flewog, was published by Y Lolfa in 2018.

She works for the Welsh-language lobbying organisation, Dyfodol i'r Iaith, and is researching photography and Welsh literature in the nineteenth century for a PhD at Bangor University.
