Tessa Hadley was born in Bristol and studied English Literature at Cambridge. She is the author of four highly-praised novels, including Accidents in the Home, which was longlisted for the Guardian First Book Award and Everything Will Be All Right. She lives in Cardiff and teaches English and Creative Writing at Bath Spa University. Her stories appear regularly in The New Yorker, Granta and other magazines and a short story collection, Sunstroke was published to substantial critical acclaim. Tessa Hadley's third novel, The Master Bedroom (2007) is published by Jonathan Cape, and her most recent is The London Train (Jonathan Cape, 2011), selected for our Autumn 2011 Bookcase. A collection of stories, Married Love was published in 2012. Her novel Clever Girl (Jonathan Cape, 2013) was shortlisted for the Welsh Book of the Year 2014.
