Verónica Zondek (b. 1954) is one of Chile’s foremost poets, widely translated abroad. She has a doctorate in Arts and Medieval History, and is fluent in Spanish, English, German and Hebrew. She is an advisor for the publishing house, LOM, one of the main independent publishers in Chile and is responsible for their series of poetry anthologies. Her own translations include the work of Gottfried Benn, Derek Walcott, June Jordan and Anne Sexton.
