Darllen Y Dolig: Christmas books for children from Wales and the World

Following our session 'Reading the World' as part of the Eisteddfod's online programme in the summer, WLE organised another session - but this time to bring together readers of Christmas books for children from different languages!

Professor Elin Haf Gruffydd Jones and Cari Lake from WLE were joined by Marion Loeffler, academic (German books), Siân Melangell Dafydd, author, poet and translator (Italian books), Marta Listewnik, academic and translator (Polish books) and Welsh publishers Lefi Gruffudd from Y Lolfa and Myrddin ap Dafydd Gwasg Carreg Gwalch.

These sessions are part of WLE's recent report into Internationalising Reading Experiences of Children and Young People in Welsh, which is now available to read on our website. The report and these subsequent sessions aimed to facilitate the process of translating published literature and help publishers find titles from languages other than English to translate.
