Britain according to Granta

Britain according to Granta

Wales Literature Exchange brings Granta magazine to Aberystwyth to mark the launch of issue 119: Britain.

Readings and conversations will be chaired by Granta magazine deputy editor Ellah Allfrey, while Granta contributor Cynan Jones and celebrated author Owen Martell explore the Welsh landscape, identity in the British Isles, masculinity and hunting for badgers. This event is part of a UK-wide series of events that marks the launch of the latest issue of Granta magazine and explore the stories Britain is telling about itself today. Cynan Jones will go on to the Paraty festival, Brazil in July with Granta, at the invitation of the British Council where he will discuss with Brazilian writer, João Paulo Cuenca the local versus the universal in literature.

The event is held at Waterstone's, Great Darkgate Street, Aberystwyth - a partner of Granta magazine. Tickets £2 | 18:30 | May 10, 2012

The Exchange is facilitating a professional seminar for students in partnership with Granta magazine at the Department of English and Creative Writing, Aberystwyth University the following morning. To reserve a place, please contact catrin@walesliterature.org
