Venkateswar Ramaswamy will give a talk: ‘Voices from the Margins’ 

Hunger is the central protagonist in the literary worlds of Ramaswamy’s translations from Bangla into English. Since 2005, he has been translating Bengali writers outside the mainstream who write about people dwelling in the margins, their suffering and the complicity of society in their oppression.

V. Ramaswamy the first Literature Across Frontiers Fellow in Creative Writing and Translation at Aberystwyth University. His 3 month residency is funded by the Charles Wallace India Trust which provides residency scholarships for Indian scholars and practitioners.
