Wales Literature Exchange will be heading to Germany, for the biggest gathering in the publishing world, the Frankfurt Bookfair.

Finland will be the guest of honour of the bookfair held between October 8 – 12 2014. The Exchange will be meeting publishers, agents and translators, and presenting our new Bookcase - our selection of books which we recommend for translation.

To organize a meeting with Wales Literature Exchange during the bookfair, please contact Sioned Puw Rowlands at sioned@waleslitexchange.org

Join our sister organisation Literature Across Frontiers at the following event during the fair:

International literature in Germany, France & the UK – a comparative perspective
Thursday 9th October
14:30 – 15:30
Weltempfang Salon, Hall 5.0

The United Kingdom is the largest source of book translations into other languages while being the least receptive to writing from other cultures. A study by Literature Across Frontiers takes a comparative look at the position of international writing in the three major European language territories, providing a starting point for a debate on the wider topic of cultural exchange, import and export.

Speakers include Christopher MacLehose (UK) publisher, Pierre Astier (France) literary agent and ex-publisher and Florian Höllerer (Germany) Literarisches Colloquium Berlin. The discussion witll be chaired by Alexandra Büchler (UK) Literature Across Frontiers.
