WLE attend Literary Professionals’ Visit to India

This month, Professor Elin Haf Gruffydd Jones of Wales Literature Exchange and Alexandra Büchler (Director of Literature Across Frontiers) are travelling to India on a professional visit to international book festivals.

The tour, organised by Literature Across Frontiers as part of their Literary Europe Live project co-funded by the Creative Europe programme, includes visits for authors and literary professionals, to literature festivals in India.

The Professional Visit started with a visit to the ninth edition of the Kolkota Literary Meet, and proceeded to Jaipur for the Jaipur Literature Festival and Jaipur Book Mark, the publishing platform that runs alongside the Literature Festival.

The group will next travel to Delhi for a talk with authors Nora Ikstena and Rachel Trezise at the Vedica Scholars Programme for women and a presentation of authors, where both Rachel Trezise and Nora Ikstea will be joined by Abo Iashaghashvili and Vilis Kasims. There will be a further networking event with literary professionals, hosted by Neeta Gupta, director of JBM and CEO of Yatra Books.

The tour will conclude in Trivandrum, Kerala, at the Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters for its third edition.
