Iwan Rhys is a poet, author and translator. Originally from Cwm Gwendraeth, and now based in Caernarfon, he is the author of a book of poetry Eleni Mewn Englynion (The Year in Verse) and a novel, Y Bwrdd (The Board), published in 2008 and 2019 respectively. Having twice won the Chair at the Urdd National Eisteddfod, he is a regular participant in the Talwrn y Beirdd poetry competition. He is married to the artist Manon Awst and is stepfather to two children. Trothwy(Threshold) is his first work of non-fiction.
