Marta Listewnik is an Assistant Professor at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. She graduated in English and Celtic languages, and completed her PhD in Welsh linguistics.

She also studied at the School of Translation, Interpreting and Languages at Adam Mickiewicz University. She has translated the Welsh twentieth-century classic Un Nos Ola Leuad by Caradog Prichard into Polish as well as a 1970s dystopia Y Dydd Olaf by Owain Owain, the war memories Pum Cynnig i Gymro by John Elwyn Jones and Llyfr Glas Nebo by Manon Steffan Ros and a volume of plays by Saunders Lewis that include Blodeuwedd, Siwan and Esther.

In January 2014, Marta joined translators from Cataluyna, Germany, India and Romania for a Schwob residency organised by Wales Literature Exchange focused on translating modern literary classics from Wales.

In March 2025, Marta was one of the invited speakers at our conference on literary translation - Cyfnewid Straeon / Exchanging Stories - held at Galeri, Caernarfon. She also held a workshop for translating Polish poet Andrzej Bursa (1932-1956) into Welsh.
