This January Literature Across Frontiers (LAF) will be continuing work on furthering the development of literary translation into and out of Turkish with two translation workshops. The first workshop will be for those translating into Turkish and will be held in co-operation with Boğaziçi University. The second workshop is for poets translating out of Turkish into English ahead of the publication of an anthology of Turkish poetry (part of LAF's New Voices from Europe and Beyond series published by Arc).
The UK-based poets who will be translating the work of the Turkish poets are WN Herbert, Zoë Skoulding and Richard Gwyn who will be joined by the Director of the Scottish Poetry Library and translator Robyn Marsack and Turkish poets Efe Duyan, Gökçenur Ç, Gonca Özmen and others to be confirmed. The poets will be reading at the Nazim Hikmet Centre in Moda at 7pm on the 26th of January.
