A collection of short stories from Wales will be launched at the Kolkata Book Fair, India held between January 28 and February 8 2015.

The Anthology of Welsh Short Fiction in Bangla translation features the work of ten Welsh authors, including Francesca Rhydderch, Lloyd Jones and Deborah Kay Davies. It will be launched by publisher Sampark at the Kolkata Book Fair with a reading by one of the authors Siân Melangell Dafydd. Previous anthologies of Welsh fiction have been published in Tamil by Kalachuvadu and Malayalam by DC Books.

Later this year, Ned Thomas’ memoir Bydoedd (Worlds), winner of the Wales Book of the Year Welsh language award in 2011, will be published in Bangla translation by Sunandan Roy Chowdhury and English translation by the author. Both books will be published by Sampark.
