The 2015 Wales Book of the Year Awards are presented to the best Welsh and English-language works first published in 2014 in the fields of creative writing and literary criticism in three categories: Fiction, Creative Non-Fiction and Poetry. The winner of the Poetry category will receive the Roland Mathias Prize for Poetry. The Award is administered by Literature Wales.
Other People’s Countries (Jonathan Cape) by Patrick Mc Guinness not only won the Creative Non-Fiction Category, but was also awarded English-language 2015 Wales Book of the Year Award.
The Dig (Granta) by Cynan Jones won the English language Fiction category, while Rhyw Flodau Rhyfel (Some Flowers of War) by Llŷr Gwyn Lewis published by Y Lolfa won the Welsh-language Creative Non Fiction Category. The Welsh language Book of the Year 2015 award went to Gareth F Williams for his novel, Awst yn Anogia (August in Anogia) published by Gwasg Gwynedd.
Each category winner received a prize of £2,000, while the two main winners in each language also received an additional £6,000.
