Sioned Puw Rowlands, Director of Wales Literature Exchange will attend the Goudfazant Network meeting held at the Petőfi Literary Museum, Budapest, on Monday, 15 June 2015. The Goudfazant network gathers together European translation funding bodies twice a year to discuss best practice.

During the meeting, Alexandra Büchler, Director of our sister organisation Literature Across Frontiers, will give a presentation on the organisation’s recent statistical research into the publishing of literary translations into English in the UK and Ireland.

Figures from the published research were quoted by Marina Warner, Man Booker International judge in a recent speech on the lack of world literature published in English, as reported in The Guardian.

There will also be an opportunity to hear presentations from Ireland Literature Exchange, Dutch Foundation for Literature and Hungarian Books & Translations Office focusing on their translation grant systems and international literature residencies.
