Croendena
Nights out on the town. Days at the seaside. Stories and secrets. Body shaming. Chasing boys, and messy nights in car parcs. Summer is up. The girls are ready to party, and life is full of possibilities. While some relationships blossom, others diminish. This monologue tells the story of Nel, a 17-year-old girl, as she grapples with her transition into womanhood and the challenges facing her and her community.
The first play to feature in an attractive new series celebrating contemporary Welsh writing for the stage, the complete original text of Croendena is reproduced here, along with photographs of the original production by Kristine Banholzer and a new introduction by the award-winning playwright, Mared Llywelyn.
