Josie discovers a magical party underwater, better than any human party. It is a world in which she discovers her true self – and Imrie Sallow. Above the water, she is lost in a world to which she does not belong, with a sister, Laura, who wants her to be 'happy and normal'. But in the shadows of the otherworld, a family secret comes to the surface that changes everything. The second play to feature in an attractive new series celebrating contemporary Welsh writing for the stage, the complete original text of Imrie is reproduced here, along with photographs of the original production by Mark Douet and a new introduction by the playwright – the Welsh Cape Verdean writer Nia Morais.
