Megan Angharad Hunter is a Welsh author, script-writer and musician, who writes both in her native Welsh and in English. She has written two novels for young adults. Her debut, tu ôl i’r awyr (behind the sky) was published in 2020 and won the Wales Book of the Year Award, her second, Cat, was published as a contribution to the prize-winning Y Pump, a series of writing for young readers recently translated into English The Five (Firefly, 2025).

Her first middle grade novel, Astronot yn yr Atig, was selected to our 2023 Bookshelf.

Megan led Literature Wales' three-day, trilingual workshop (Welsh, English and BSL), Write Back. This project aimed to amplify the voices of young Welsh individuals who identify as Disabled and/or Deaf and/or chronically ill and went on to be the starting point for the compilation of stories from a wide range of Welsh Disabled and Deaf writers Beyond/Tu Hwnt (Lucent Dreaming 2024) which she co-edited with Sioned Erin Hughes and Bethany Handley.

She was co-editor with Llŷr Titus of Young.Welsh.Pride (Rily, 2024), a Tir Na Nog award winning compilation of stories from young welsh LGBTQ+ writers.
