A group of four friends celebrate their 30th birthdays by returning to the university town where they first met.
Aberystwyth, a university town as well as a seaside town, is the setting for the big night out planned by the four friends whose lives were shaped by the three years they spent as students in Aber. Almost a decade later, the “quadvods” may have remained the same, but everything else has changed – both the town itself, and the women themselves. Efa must keep up appearances and not let on to the more successful and put-together Siwan, Caryl and Awen that she is struggling. But as the night wears on, it becomes apparent that all is not as it seems with any of the four friends, as they each grapple with infidelity, mental health, parenthood, sexuality, and all the trials and tribulations that face millennial women entering their fourth decade.
A relatable and quietly devastating story that reveals how the dynamics of university life can follow students for years to come, as well as the resilience of female friendships.
