On Thursday afternoon, 4 August 2016 at 3pm, the Welsh language winner of the Translation Challenge will be announced in the Aberystwyth University tent at the National Eisteddfod in Abergavenny. The event will be held by Wales Literature Exchange and light refreshment will be available.

This year’s challenge was to translate the Spanish poem, ‘El Conejo y la Chistera’, by the Mexican poet, Pedro Serrano, and the Welsh translations were judged by Ned Thomas. The winner will be awarded £250 as well as a bardic staff sponsored by Cymdeithas Cyfieithwyr Cymru (the Association of Welsh Translators and Interpreters).
