Iwan Llwyd was a poet, musician and literary critic who published poetry, wrote for TV and theatre, and performed widely. He earned an MA in medieval poetry from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. He won Welsh Book of the Year in 1997 and made the longlist twice more, in 2004 and 2008.
